The old OCD is at it again!

I found this layout in this month's SU!'s demonstrator magazine and had to try it...I'm not to happy about the sentiment in the circle but it works for now....tomorrow I'll have another similar card to show....

Love how the bird pops over the band...so simple, yet elegant....

Color Combo obsession continued....

Here's my take on the previously posted card...using the Friendly Flowers set...I inked the stamp with markers to make the center piece...

My name is Kate....

...and I have OCD....okay, I can admit it!...I saw the above card on Splitcoaststampers and became OBSESSED with the color combo--Rose Red & So Saffron...(I'm also OBSESSED with the layout, but that's another post!)

I just had to try it out--so here's what I came up with....

Wings of Friendship

...one of my all time faves....I've made this card before (actually in the exact same colors) but wanted to used some of the felt flowers I had left...used my last piece of Sage Shadow :(

Birthday Owl

Is he cute or what?

The balloons are 3/4 inch circles with the little tied off part being the feet of the owl!!

The balloon strings are some copper wire from my fellow demo, Joan Buckley.  Using the wire was much easier than string. Thanks, Joan!

Felt like makin' some penguins!

I've had some samples of the cutest little penguins sitting on my desk just waiting to be made, so I decided to whip some up...well, actually if you own the owl punch you know that you can't just whip one up....it takes several times punching in different colors to get the result you want, but when you finish it, it was definitely worth it!

The little bow ties are from the Build-a-Bear Valentine diecut....the striped paper is non-SU!....

The arms are actually half of the head (the actual owl head with the ears) just repositioned to make the wings...

It's challenge time again!

Here's our demo monthly challenge and, boy, are they getting challenging!  Look at those colors!  But after much studying (I leave the challenge sketch right in the middle of my craft table), I came up with this card....

I used the retired Friendly Flowers and chose a sentiment instead of the ribbon (I didn't have any ribbon in any of those colors!)

I used my Ice Cream Parlor Buttons with a little sliver of Tangerine Tango in the centers....

Wild Wasabi, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango

Which brad is better?

I'm thinking the copper ones...I've had these felt flowers forever, so I decided to find a layout that would use them up...the background flowers are from 'Vintage Vogue' and the main image is 'Thoughts and Prayers'...

Heated Ribbon Rose

Head over to You Tube and watch a video on how to make this really pretty heated ribbon rose...the video is by one of my favorites-Dawn Olshefske (I'd put a link but I still can't figure out how to do that-sorry!) ...all you need is some satin ribbon, sticky tape sheets and your heat tool...

I did this as a demo at our monthly meeting...I made a pink rosette as a demo so I'll have to make a card with it and post it soon!

Basic Gray, Shimmer White

Bitty Button Flowers

Is this card adorable or what?  And yes, I did cut out all those buttons by hand (well, not the square ones) and then I realized that I had a punch for the smaller buttons and the larger snap buttons!  Duh!

My color combo comes straight from the Color Coach...

Rich Razzleberry, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi

Cupcake Cutie!

Here's a really cute cupcake card....you can barely see that I stamped the sentiment, but you can see it nicely in real life....the D/S paper is last year's Sale-a-bration....I still have a ton of it--this is a nice way to use it up....

Hats off to your birthday!

Here's my Make-n-Take from last week's meeting....the hats are from the Party Hearty set...I took the cupcake punch to make the pom-poms and the trim under each hat...just punch out the bottom of the cupcake (the wrapper part), lay your already cut out hat on top and trim so that the top scalloped edge of the cupcake wrapper becomes the scalloped trim on the bottom of the hat...does that make sense?

The banner is made using the 'faux banner' technique...Take a longer piece of Tempting Turquoise (3 1/2 x 1/2 inch) and notch out the sides, glue down...then take a sentiment-stamped shorter piece (2 1/4 x 1/2 inch) and pop it up with dimensionals...voila!  Adjust the lengths to fit your sentiment...

Upsy Daisy Thanks....

Here's Brenda's Make-n-Take from our Monday meeting...I love how she stamped with Upsy Daisy in Real Red then slightly moved it over and re-stamped without re-inking...this is a great card for any occasion....

Rose sparkly birthday...

This was perhaps the quickest card to make, and yet it is really stunning!  The little glittered glue-ons are from Michael's, but you could use eyelets or glimmer brads...the original card I CASEd was in turquoise and white (and used turquoise rhinestones), but I was inspired by my glitter glue-ons' color...

Rose Red, Regal Rose

Look what I won!

Each month our SU! demo group has a challenge--it's only been 2 months and I love the challenge (it's a card sketch with specific color combo)...and both months I have won!  Last month I won some silver chunky glitter (and my FAVORITE pen-which my hubby left behind at a restaurant!) and this month I won this great bag!  It's one of those reusable bags (but no-way no-how am I going to use it for groceries!)  And the host of the challenge (my great friend Brenda--check out her blog on the side bar) even had another pen for me!!!!  Stop by tomorrow to see our Make-n-Takes!

Well, here it is....

If you read back a few posts, you know that I wanted to make some male Get Well cards....so here's what I came up with...I like this layout so much I think I'm going to turn this into a Christmas card!

I used the Peaceful Wishes (retired set)...the little dots stamped on the Certainly Celery piece are from Itty Bitty Backgrounds...the sprays on the circle piece is from the Color Spritzer Tool...

Early Espresso, Certainly Celery, Crumb Cake, Confetti White, zigzag from Tasteful Trims die

Two scoops for you!

....actually 3 scoops....the reason I posted 2 photos is because I wanted to show you that I glued 2 blue rhinestones on top of the Chocolate Chip brads...wasn't too sure if I liked it, but it gives the card some bling!

The cone is free-handed and the scoops are the tops of the cupcake punch (they even make great clouds!)....

Bashful Blue, Naturals Ivory (vanilla scoop) Whisper White, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel

Did I tell you I love the Button set?  The color combo comes from the Color Coach...I made the first card on white card base then switched it to Marina Mist....

A Little Confused....

I sat down to make a Get Well card for a fellow stamper's dad and this is what happened!  I loved the layout of the card (especially using the Tasteful Trim diecut) but then I got taken away to the girly side!

Stop by Monday for the real manly card I forced myself to make!

Orchid Oppulance, Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive

DS 2 Challenge

I'm really starting to love these challenges!  Once again I used all the colors!  I added the medallion in the  iddle because I thought it looked naked....
