Tulipe Diecut

I quickly ordered this Tulipe diecut before it retired in June...I purchased it with a specific project in mind for a friend's wedding, but I just had to see what I could do with it...

I diecut the image in Rich Razzleberry and off set it on some Whisper White card stock, then layered that on some Basic Black, then on a Not Quite Navy card...looking at the photo now, I could have assembled the pieces a little straighter!

I figured this would make a lovely Anniversary card...

Elegant Thank You

Look what my friend and fellow demo, Jessica Gloster, sent me as a Thank You for letting her borrow an embossing folder (the one used on the card)...she makes gorgeous invites and matching Thank Yous...

The photo doesn't do it justice...so simple and elegant!

Thanks, Jessica!

And yet another...

One day I decided to Google "card sketches" and this is one of the layouts I found...it's amazing what you can find on the internet!  What would we do without it?

I used some retired D/S paper and the Tasteful Trim die cut...I used some Craft ink on the hand stamp--it gave it a much richer color than the Classic ink...the blue heart looked very plain so I popped it into the Swiss Dots embossing folder...the buttons I have had for eons!  Glad they came in handy for this project!

Layouts, layouts, everywhere...

In my quest for layouts, I saw this one on page 131 in the Ib & C and had to try it....I went from making one card to making 2 sets to sell at an upcoming vendor fair...I used up some scraps of D/S paper...
...for the bottom card I went a little wild with the card colors, but I only made one since I didn't want to waste the paper....

An oldie but a goodie....

Remember those spectrum pads?  The ones that have 6 mini ink pads in a row?  I came across mine the other day and decided to whip up this super fast card...no coloring needed!

Patriotic Thanks!

How cute (and easy!) is this card?

The original one that I CASEd had red and white striped paper, instead of plaid...but you have to work with what you have laying around!

I made this card as a Thank You in the beginning of July--how perfect?

Beach-themed wedding

My dear friend, Ada, always keeps me on my toes!  She always needs a very interesting card--she must have really cool friends!

She asked me to make a beach-themed wedding card for her friend, whose wedding colors were hot pink and neon green....isn't that a challenge?!?!

I had been wanting to make this sand castle card that I saw on Dawn Olshefske's blog (she has full directions so check it out!)  I pulled in the pink and green colors on the flag and with the flowers...I really like how it turned out!

The card measure 5 1/4 square (to fit in some large envelopes that I have had forever and never thought to use...

Pink and Blue Blessings

As you know, I am obsessed with layouts...so I have now been scouring the SU! Idea Book and Catalog for layouts to use...I found this one on page 141...

This card fits in a standard envelope (the one that fits a check)...the main cross image in non-SU!, but the background stamp (from set Always) and all the paper and ink is SU!

The little scalloped edge around the 'pennant' middle section in the ribbon border punch just taped behind the 'pennant'...

Off topic...

I just realized that I have to download the photos from my camera so I can share some more stamped items, so I decided to show you my garden... I took some of these lilies from my mom's garden 2 years ago since they were this traffic-cone orange, but when they bloom in my yard, they are the most delicate shade of peach...

New Home...

Sorry I've been MIA for a bit...been busy with hubby (who's on vacation and cramping my stamping style!) and kiddies going on day trips!  Plus I've been having some computer trouble, but I'm back now with 3 cards made from the same Stampin' Around Wheel--Neighborhood....

I needed a 'New Home' card to send to an old friend and I couldn't wait to use this wheel!  Notice the LAYOUT in the middle card?  I think I like the last cards the best--they are paper pieced...lots of cutting but worth the effort!

Sweet 16

My friend needed a Sweet Sixteen card for her friend...the colors were pink and purple...pretty simple....the numbers are a Cuttlebug diecut and covered in glitter--really makes them pop!

Hello BRIGHT Blossoms!

Saw this layout with different patterned paper and loved it...but when I put it together I thought it was a tad bright....

The strips of paper behind the stamped image are from the Tasteful Trim diecut.

Layout, again!

Ordered this stamp set from ebay (it's a retired SU! set from before my time with SU! so it's quite rare!)...decided to make up some cards with it--I was thinking of putting different sentiments on them, like Happy Birthday and Congrats...

The ballerina image is embossed with embossing powder

One of my favorites!

This set (Thoughts and Prayers) is one of the most versatile sets...you can make a card for almost any occasion and any age...

On the tree card, I embossed the image and words with black embossing powder...I also wove the paper ribbon through the Top Note die...

Colorful Thanks

I chose this color combo straight from the Color Coach...and then I realized that I had glitter in the exact same shade as Rich Razzleberry so I had to add some to the heart...

I used markers to ink up the different colors on the main image....

Tuxedo card...

I CASed this card directly from Mary Fish (her blog is to the right--check it out!)

I thought this would be a great wedding card if you were close to the groom (since so many cards are so girly!) or even for an engagement party...

Frilly Covered notepads

Here are some covered notepads I've been making as gifts...very simple to do...just spend a half hour punching strips of cardstock with various edge punches and then glue them down in random patterns....two of the pads are in Pale Plum, but my favorite one is done Naturals Cream (the one with the pink flower)

The chipboard letters and flowers are covered in Craft ink (craft ink offers a much better color)   The 'd' notepad has a heated ribbon rose....

Makes a great graduation or birthday gift, even Mother's Day....

July Challenge

This month's challenge uses the same colors as last month...I opted not to use all of them this time around...I also rotated the sketch...I used the Daisy Big Shot diecut (3x) to make a really stunning flower...

Getting it right....

Did you ever make a card and stare at it, thinking it just wasn't what you had planned?  I started out making this card, with the Very Vanilla Circle, then changed it to a stamped Crumb Cake circle, but still didn't feel like it was right...so I went back and stamped the Very Vanilla circle with some Crumb Cake ink...I think I finally got it!

The butterfly is embossed with some craft ink and clear embossing powder....the middle band is stamped and embossed with a Cuttlebug folder--it gives it a really nice look....

Color combo?

I took out my Color Coach and it said that Perfect Plum and Concord Crush were a 'Dynamic Duo'....so I used my favorite layout and whipped up this card using 'God's Beauty' set...

Not sure I like this color combo....what do you think?

Flip Flops Tutorial!

Here's a card I made for my SIL b'day...I saw this card but had no idea how they made the flip flops so I came up with this idea using the Butterfly punch...

Lay one Butterfly punch on top of the other, lining up as shown...

Trim as shown...

You can get 2 shoes from one butterfly punch...

Emboss (here I used the Lattice floder) and punch 3 holes for the thongs....

I used linen thread and threaded the flip flops as shown....

Add a circle punched from a standard hole punch and some bling and you have yourself a set of Flip Flops!
