I know I'm always late...

I should be making these things to give to teachers on the FIRST day of school, but I never do, so these will have to wait till the end!

I saw a version of this as a wrapper on a Hershey bar and decided to translate it into a card...the card is made from 12 x 12 cardstock so you can get 4 our of them...and they fit in a standard issue envelope...

To get the lined pencil part I punched with edge with the scallop border punch and used my scoring  tool to score the lines...the silver 'metal' bad is a piece of sliver cardstock run through the Houndstooth embossing folder...the pencil point it just a 3/4 in black circle glued on and trimmed...

My dad would be so proud...

My father, ever the bargain hunter, gave me several (hundred) of these manila colored envelopes...they are too small to be mailed (I think) so I was going to use them to send things into school...but there are so many, my 3 year old would probably be in college before I used them up!

So I saw this idea on Papertreyink's blog, where they used an actually manila folder to create this little pocket for Pixie sticks...isn't it adorable?

The envelope is just cut in half and glued on the one open side..stamped and a little stamped image (here from Booglie Eyes) in placed in a scalloped circle and attached with a bit of ribbon...

So now I'm making over 70 for 3 of my kids to bring in for Halloween!  Can anyone say Christmas treats with candy canes?

Number 4

Here's the 4th in my card assortment....I made a box of 8, 2 of each style for only $13!  That's only $1.67 a card!

Let me know if you are interested in picking one up...makes a great teacher gift!

I markered up the stamp and stamped 2x without re-inking...makes for the subtle shaded flowers

Happy-Rainbow-Love & Care...

Here's the 3rd card in my Love & Care box of 'mature' female birthday cards...

I love all the colors--they really just pop!  But I felt the card was lacking something, so I added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the center of the yellow flower...I think a button may have worked, too, but I didn't have a Daffodil Delight button...

The layout is from Krista Fenton, as always...

White Wedding...

I'm sort of getting into these jumbo cards (as I call them)...I have had the larger envelopes sitting around forever (like probably 8 years!) so why not start using them?

This card uses white card stock (obviously!)...the layer under the first white square it a layer of glossy card stock--it's almost a different shade of white, so there is some contrast...

The measurements for the layers are as follows:

Card is 5 1/2 squared
Glossy layer 4 3/4 squared
White inner layer 4 1/2 squared
Top of cake 1 1/2 x 2 1/2
Middle 1 1/2 x 3
Bottom 1 1/2 x 3 1/2

The corners are rounded and the layer is embossed...the ruffle trim is the ribbon punch, layered underneath...I'm sure the scallop border punch would be a great substitute!  You could also add some tiny punched flowers to add some color...

Wouldn't this make a nice birthday card, too?

Big Purple Birthday

Here's a version of a previous card I did in shades of blue for my friend's mother's birthday...

Here I used Concord Crush and Wysteria Wonder...I added extra flowers of all sizes and some bling...it makes for a really 'wow' card!

Sometimes....

...you just have to mix it up!  I felt that my stash to sell at an upcoming vendor fair was lacking some girly baby cards, so I decided to make this one...it's one of those classic layouts I love, and so simple...

Love & Care, part 2

Here's another card using 'Love & Care'...I wasn't too keen on the all Blush Blossom card, so I switched it up with a Basic Black base...

I think it made it 'pop' more...

Grown up birthday....

I am always drawn to fun and colorful cards...but I wanted to make some 'mature' cards for a change....

I got this set 'Love & Care' from my friend Brenda and couldn't wait to make this card...isn't it GORGEOUS????

The original card that I CASEd used a piece of Old Olive D/S paper, but since I didn't have any, I stamped my solid card stock with the canvas background stamp...the pearl just added a sweet touch...

Guest Stamper

Look what my 10 year old made for her grandparents for Grandparents' Day...She's really becoming a talented stamper...she has a knack for color combos and likes to copy samples of other cards and tweek them to her liking...

Way to go, Maggie!

Blue Birthday

My friend asked me to make her mom a birthday card and the only specification was that it should have some blue in it....

So here it is...this is actually the first version...as it sat on my desk, I kept looking and looking at it and felt it needed something...then the day before I had to give it to my friend, I added some Night of Navy tiny punched flowers and more stamped flowers...and of course some more rhinestones...the background is stamped in Bliss Blue and embossed in the Big Shot...the card measure 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 and fits into a vellum envelope...

The actual finished card is much better!  But I'm not sure if I took a photo of it before I delivered it!

I wasn't sure...

...if I liked this card with or without the bow...sometimes I think less is more!

Oh, I forgot to mention that I crimped the cupcake wrapper with the crimper and sponged some Chocolate Chip ink along the edges...it really makes the crimps pop!

Sorry this picture is so blurry!

I didn't even realize it was this bad until I posted it just now!  Oh, well...

I decided to make a set a cupcake birthday cards to sell at an upcoming craft/vendor fair...so here's the first card...

I love this layout with the single rounded corner reflected on both layers....

Bliss Blue, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Real Red for the cherry, Pacific Point for the flower

One more...

I know, I know...you're probably getting sick of sports cards...but as I am OCD--I couldn't help myself!

Another great layout from Krista Fenton!

More sports...

Here's a look at the new In Colors (I'm just a little late)...

I love this layout (I made a Baby Boy card a while back)...I used the new Houndstooth embossing folder...I didn't have any brads or eyelets to match any of the new colors, so I just punch 3 tiny circles and glued in place...now that I am looking at it, I guess I could have used silver or black...duh...

Sports and boys...

I wanted to make some cards for my neighbor (for her birthday) and since she has 3 young children, I figured she could use some birthday cards for when her kids has parties to go to...

I also had this layout sitting around, waiting for the right stamp set, and I think I found it!

Good, but not great...

I was so pleases with my white on white embossed card from a few posts ago, that I decided to try try it in Pale Plum (I still have a ton of this retired color and I'm sick of looking at it!)...

I used the rose embossing folder this time and glued glitter on the raised edges...it's still a petty card, but I like the white version much better!

Might make a pretty wedding card...

Marina Mist Inspired

Here's a great card I made with 'Inspired by Nature'...you may not be able to tell in the photo, but the flowers are actually popped up...only the leaves and stems are stamped on the circle...

The grass side of the stamp makes a reaaly nice background...

I found his layout and had to give it a whirl...I used the 'old' In Colors...

Inspired note card

Here is a sample of a set of note cards I made using my new 'birthday' set from SU! (remember they gave me 15% discount on one item for my b'day?)

The set is called 'Inspired by Nature'...it's so versatile...I just markered up the stamp and set it on a piece of Confetti White card stock...I added some highlights to the Crushed Curry petals with some More Mustard and some Early Expresso highlights the Soft Suede center of the flower....Old Olive for the leaves...

Sparkling white...

My hubby gave me this beautiful card for my birthday...it's hard to see, but it is 2 dandelion flowers (my kids call them 'blow flowers') embossed and glittered on white card stock (click on each photo to enlarge and see details!)....it was so stunning (and simple) that I thought I could replicate it...

I embossed a piece of white card stock with a non SU! embossing folder (it's actually a Cuttlebug one)...ran my 2 wat glue stick over the raised parts and added some Dazzling Diamonds...

The original card has 2 pink rhinestones adhered to the flowers, but I didn't ant to ruin the effect I had gotten with just the plain card...it is truly stunning--I even impressed myself!

I thought this would make a gorgeous wedding invite or card...or maybe even a set of note cards...

Would you believe....

that this is one card?  It's called the 'Never Ending Card' and I got the idea from here: paperpleasing.typepad.com/my_weblog/2010/12/never-ending-explanation.html

She has a great video and detailed instructions...it was a lot of fun to make!

Would you like a slice?

Isn't this card the cutest?  I got the idea from some cards on Splitcoaststampers.com...I used the scallop circle die cut and Coluzzle to make the watermelon parts...then I was stuck for seeds when I thought I could fashion some out of the small flower petals!

I've seen some people make even better seeds out of the throw away parts of the new 3 layer flower/doily punches, but I don't have either one...

Engagement, part 2

Here's my second card for an engagement party....I thought that the flamencos were a stretch for an engagement theme, but it came out really cute!

I colored the flamencos with markers, adding some shading...after I stamped them, I filled in their eyes with Basic Black marker...I added some color to the stamped hearts on the bottom with the Regal Rose marker...

Engagement, part 1

My friend, Ada, asked me to create a card for an upcoming Engagement party...here's the 1st of the 2 I made...

The ring image is from the retired "Goody Goody" set...the swirled hearts is a retired background set...the rest is pretty self evident, except I added Dazzling Diamonds to the diamond, of course!
