Multi-colored leaf
I've had this diecut/embossing folder duo forever, so I decided to break it out...I didn't know how to color the leaf so I just smooshed a bunch of colors onto the paper with daubers...then stamped with woodgrain background...the background behind the leaf is embossed with the strips folder--but horizontally...

Last but not least....
This is the last card from my stash of card fronts I have to show....
It was made eons ago using a technique called "spotlighting"...the truck image was stamped 2x....once on the Very Vanilla as the focal image and again on a scrap of Very Vanilla that was colored in and punched with a 1 3/8 circle punch...that circle was then adhered to the main image...pretty cool, huh?

65...
I loved this layout so much, that when I was asked to make a 65th birthday card for my friend's uncle, I knew exactly what I wanted to do....
The strips are 1/2 in wide...you can butt them up together or leave a sliver of space between them...I used the 1 inch square punch to make the 'tails'...this time I also add 3 brads to anchor the strips to the card...the small piece of ribbon is a tiny scrap folded in half...

I just couldn't resist! I had this small piece of striped paper just sitting on my desk....what better way to use it than this layout?

Striped birthday
I needed some male birthday cards, and this is a great go-to card. It's great for males or females (I did this originally in girly colors) young and old...
This is a CASE from the demo mag Stampin' Success...
On one of the cards, I added a scallop along the bottom of the center piece...I like it either way!
Bliss Blue, Early Expresso, Very Vanilla, D/S paper pack, Island Indigo

Happy Cheers!
Here's another card I made for my hubby's uncle's 70th birthday...I didn't want to do the traditional b'day cake...so I went for a masculine look...

Male birthday
Here's the card I made for my brother...the paper/ribbon are not Stampin' Up!, but they match perfectly with SU! Soft Suede and Marina Mist...not too mention Sahara Sand!

Baseball birthday
My son needed a card for a birthday party this weekend for one of his teammates...so I figured I'd stay with the theme...the glove ad the ball are stamped and cut out to add some dimension...
Riding Hood Red, Night of Navy, Creamy Caramel (glove), Whisper White, Naturals Ivory (background circle), Crumb Cake

Happy Anniversary!
My hubby & I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary 2 weeks ago...here's the card I made...I was sick of making love-y dove-y heart-y pink/red cards....so i decided to make a card with one of his favorite things--BEER!
The stamp is from the set Cheers to You...I thought the woodgrain background adds a nice touch...the foam on the top of the beer is made with Liquid Applique...I had the same little bottle for years (like 10!) and it still works!

Another mature card?
...what's come over me?!!
Pulled out my Color Coach (Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Early Espresso), my layout stash, and my Mom's Classic Cars set to whip up this card....
...now that I'm looking at it, I should have moved the car image to the left a bit, right? And I switched up the circle (#4) for a sentiment lined up with the main image....

Classic layout
I love layouts, as you know...and I love to see what other people do with them...
I've been saving this layout from Dawn Olchefske for the longest time, waiting for the perfect stamp...
The card with the bicycle is her version of the layout...mine took a manly turn with the classic car...the color combo is from the Color Coach...I only colored the flames part of the car to highlight the colors in the card...
Early Expresso, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Sahara Sand

Another big boy card....
I've used this layout before from Krista Fenton, and I loved it, so I decided to use it again in my series of more mature work...god, I hate how that sounds!
I added the sentiment on an oval punch to change it up a bit...
Bravo Burgandy, Night of Navy, Basic Grey, Confetti Cream

Here it is...
....a mature card! I borrowed a few of my mom's stamp sets to make some mature birthday cards...so here it is with the sketch I used...I've been holding on to this card sample for a long time now and am so excited that I got a chance to use it!

Fishing birthday
My friend, Kim, asked me to make card for her husband's birthday, who likes to fish...I do not own any mature stamp sets--gotta get some!...so here's what I came up with (and he liked it!)
I painted the fish scales with some Crystal Effects...the sentiment is actually printed from the computer since I don't own a stamp that was simple and would fit into a circle punch...the background is stamped with the Fishy Friends matching wheel...don't you just love the layout, too?
Lucky Limeade, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point

Male anniversary card?
Is there such a thing? My friend, Ada, (Hi! Ada!!) asked me to make an anniversary card for her fiance...I really love how the card turned out...notice the paper piercing along the edge of the main image (and the rounded corners)...the center heart image (from the Always set) is stamped 2x....the actual heart is popped up with dimensionals...
Even though this is a 5 x 5 card, I was able to emboss the River Rock background piece since the folder I used was an open design...I just positioned it to emboss different areas of the card and ran it through the Big Shot twice...oh! and I sponged the edges of this piece to make it pop!
Cherry Cobbler, River Rock, Early Expresso, Marina Mist (color combo taken directly from Color Coach)

Male squares and circles....
As I looked through my items for the vendor fair (which is tomorrow) I felt that I was lacking in 'male' cards, so I decided to make up this one just to have available...
I had seen a version of this made in a regular A2 size, but changed it around to fit into a square card...
1 inch square punch and 3/4 inch circle punch...
Soft Suede, Tempting Turquoise, Early Expresso, Whisper White, Pear Pizzaz, Lucky Limeade, Baja Breeze

Truckload of fun!
My friend, Ada, asked (challenged! thanks!) me to make a card for her brother who likes cards...unfortunately, I do not ow a car stamp set (you would think I would since I have 2 boys--guess I'll have to put that on my next shopping list!)
The truck is paper-pieced (meaning the image is stamped on several different colors of cardstock and trimmed and pieced together to make one cohesive image)...I stamped the trees 2 or 3 times without re-inking the stamp to give the forest some depth...the grass along the highway is a piece of Garden Green cardstock torn along the top edge and then trimmed into fronds...
This card measures 6 1/2 x 6 1/2, scored at 3 1/4...it fits in a small legal style envelope...
I like this card so much that I decided to make one for my nephew and brother-in-law!
