Same set...different layout

Another great layout, although I wish I had more patterned paper..(my paper draw is screaming right now!)...

The papers are different lengths (I just eye-balled it), but the same width (1/2 inch)...the pumpkin image is stamped on patterned paper and popped up...

Always Artichoke, Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake

Fall, already?

I was a little sick of making summer-looking cards...so I decided to whip out Happy Harvest and make this card...I stamped the pumpkin on some Pumpkin Pie patterned paper..the button is a retired cordouroy button...the side strip is just some Early Expresso punched with the scallop edge punch with a sliver of Pumpkin Pie glued on top...the card base is Always Artichoke, run through the embossing folder...oh, and don't forget the Crumb Cake panel with the rounded corners!

The layout is from Krista Fenton (of course!)

Circle Circus...

I had this sample to CASE for the set Circle Circus for the longest time and I finally got a chance to make it...the stamped piece it popped up with dimensionals...the sentiments are stamped along the sides of the popped up piece (stamp the sentiments first with the panel laying flat on the card...it makes it easier to stamp, then pop up with dimensionals)..I added the little punched flowers to fill in the gaps...

Can't wait to try it in some other colors...maybe even a Christmas card???

Well, I'm back!

Wasn't that quick?  I had lots of time today to organize myself, download my camera, and even got in a little stamping!  The hurricane is about to hit...it is raining on and off here...but we are going stir crazy waiting for Hurricane Irene to come!  We  even had to shut the TV, as it was making us all anxious...

Todays' card is so simple...3 circles, embossed with the Swiss Dot folder, with a layered stamped flower on the center...I chose the colors because I had some Pumpkin Pie ribbon and went to the Color Coach and found a 3 color combo that worked...the center of the flower has a red rhinestone in the middle...

I know I've been missing....

Just returned from a short trip to my parents' house, that turned into a bit of a nightmare, with my 5 year old having to be admitted to the hospital with an asthma attack... so needless to say I'm a bit discombobulated!  I just need to unpack (& find my camera to download some photos) get my son well, and prepare for this hurricane!  So I will be back soon!

Quite a surprise!

I lied...I did receive one other hand-made card for my birthday this year...I received this My Digital Studio card fro Stampin' Up!...

Along with the card was a surprise 15% discount on one item!!! (so I got the Inspired by Nature set--wait till you see what I made with it!)...

In true card maker fashion, I took off the card front and put it on my own Rich Razzleberry card, ready to give to someone else!

You can really see it in the photo, but someone took the time to adhere 2 rhinestones to the front of the card...

Quite the budding artist!

My daughter, Maggie, made this card...isn't it cute?  I had the oval cut out already and she stamped the flower pot on some Really Rust and Daffodil Delight and paper pieced the image...she even picked the blue for the card (Baja Breeze) and embossed a smaller piece and adhered it to the card with some ribbon...

She's a great stamper!

Look what I got...

...for my birthday!  This was the only handmade card I got this year (besides from my kids!)  I have turned my Mom into a punch addict!  She sent me this terrific card made from ovals punches and embossing folders!  Love it!  Thanks, Mom!

Engagement Thank Yous

My friend, Ada, asked me to make some Thank Yous for her engagement party...she wanted to send them in the same envelope as her 'Save the Date' bookmark magnets...so they need to be long and skinny (as opposed to a traditional A2 card)...so I decided to take a half a sheet of cardstock (8 1/2 x 5 1/2) and score it at 2 1/2 to make a card that would fit in a legal sized envelope...

She wanted to stick with her wedding theme (black, white, Taken with Teal and Melon Mambo AND damask) so here's what I came up with...I used the Tulipe diecut...and the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder...I think they came out great--all 40 of them!!!

Scrapbook layout addiction???

I hardly ever share my scrapbook pages, but I just had to show this one...

I saw this layout in my monthly SU! demo only magazine and thought it was so simple...

The photo is of my children and my 2 nieces and nephew taken on my front porch on Easter Sunday...

I embossed the Medallion with clear embossing powder...

So Saffron, Poppy Parade, Baja Breeze, and a small piece of Baker's twine...the sentiment is a sticker that I just layered on cardstock and cut apart...

Challenge that never was....

Here's my card for this month's Definitely Stampers 2 meeting that was cancelled this month...boo hoo...

I ended up using all the colors, but it was a struggle!  The only difference is that I used retired Cool Carribean instead of the new In Color Pool Party (since I don't own it yet)...the Cool Carribean panel across the center has 'Happy Birthday' stamped in the same color ink...

Rose Red, Cool Carribean, Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant, Very Vanilla

Peek-a-boo daisy

I saw this idea on Ruth M's blog and had to try it...

I created a template using the 1 1/4 inch square punch...I actually punched out 3 squares and laid them out on a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 in card front so they were evenly spaced...then using the template I punched out the squares in the white card...

I ran some cardstock through the Big Shot and cut out 3 daisies (the largest size)...taped them to the back or inside of the card and trimmed the petals that were extended over the next square (try to make the inside look as neat as possible)...

The patterned paper that peeks though the daisies in just glued to the inside bottom of the card (4 x 2")

Ice Cream birthday!

August is a BIG month for birthdays in my family...I made this card for my sister-in-law...the striped paper is from Michael's, but again, it coordinates with SU! colors...I used the same layout as in the previous post, but added the sentiment on a little banner...

Male Birthday + Layout

Here's the actual card I sent to my brother...

I found this layout on Krista Fenton's blog...the oval is a piece of watercolor paper, stamped in Staz-on ink, water colored with an Aqua painter, then sprayed with a fine mist of water so the colors ran together...then I took the Color Mister (the one that you stick a marker in and spritz the ink from the marker all over your project) with some Old Olive ink...

I love this layout--I have to try it out again!

Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Baja Breeze (color combo from the Color Coach)

Happy Circles!

Sorry I've been MIA for a few days...I've been scrapbooking and had to download my camera...but I'm back with this card...

Isn't it striking?  I made this for my brother's birthday but decided that it was a little to 'kiddie' (so I made another card that I will post soon)...this uses a bunch of punched circles (some I even punched out the center) and layered on Basic Black...run thorough an embossing folder to make use of the 'Inlay Technique'...

Cops and Robbers

My friend, Ada, once again challenged me to come up with a card for a friend of her's 18th birthday that had a 'Cops and Robbers' theme...

I was panicked at first, but then figured I'd keep it simple with some prison stripes and a scallop circle covered in some chunky silver glitter...I love the way it came out!

Super Simple Layout!

Found this layout on Krista Fenton's blog, too!  This one is so simple, yet terrific!  I'm thinking Christmas card--with some printed paper and snowflake in the enter--are you with me????

The striped paper is non SU!, but everything else is...I'm so obsessed with striped and small patterned paper!  I wish SU! would carry assorted colored striped paper...

Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Bliss Blue (for the flower)

Another layout...

I saw this layout on Krista Fenton's blog and had to try it...the patterned paper is not SU!, but it caught my eye because it matched SU! colors...I'm obsessed with finding small prints on patterned paper, so whenever I go into the big box store, I always check out the paper aisle...

I liked the rounded corners on the card--the fact that they are not ALL rounded is what stood out for me!

More Tulipe die....

What do you think of the Tulipe diecut as leaves?  Pretty cool, huh?!

I dyed the paper flower with some Regal Rose re-inker...

Sahara Sand, Always Artichoke, Regal Rose

Now I definitely know....

...that this one is over then top!

I diecut the Tulipe onto a sticky-strip sheet (that super sticky red tape) and then covered in in (retired) glitter...added some red rhinestones and I have myself a super sparkly Christmas card...

It was quite difficult to line up everything straight with that sticky sheet!

Monday, August 1, 2011

Is it too much?

Here's I chose to use the negative part of the Tulip Diecut, layering it over a French Script stamped piece of Very Vanilla...the diecut piece is embossed and popped up with dimensionals...I added pearls to the holes of the cut out...

This is not my usual stamping style, but I'm trying to stamp out of the box...
