As I was going though the retired list, I noticed this card (made in different colors which I didn't care for)...I loved the layout and decided to make it...I thought I would make it for my daughter's birthday, but then a friend need a card, so I sold it to her....I absolutely love the card and I definitely have to make it in a few different color combos!
The original card used buttons instead of the 3 flowers...

Congrats
What do you do when you need a card for a male for congratulations on starting a new job?
Struggle is what I did!
But then I had this layout (originally done with just 2 hearts)...and then I over stamped with word and had to cover up the mistake...so more stars it is!
I really like how it came out!
Soft Suede, Sahara Sand, Not Quite Navy, Marina Mist, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White

Happy Birthday, Maggie!
Today is my oldest's birthday! Here's the card I made for her....it looks very simple, but, believe me, it took longer than I thought. It has a lot of layers (lots of dimensionals used!)...but she's worth it! Plus, she saves my cards!

Party This Way....in the clouds...
Isn't this adorable?
The clouds are the icing from the cupcake punch (I even punched them in white glimmer paper)...the balloon strings are hand drawn...

Acetate wings
I have had my pack of acetate sheets FOREVER, and when I saw this project, I just knew I had to use my stash! Hopefully you can see the wings in the above photo...the acetate butterflies are even embossed with the Swiss Dots folder so they have some texture...I used some baker's twine to tie the 2 butterflies together (using a a glue dot in back)...

Toile Butterfly
I saw a version of this and had to try it...I love the design on the bigger butterfly layer...although, now that I look at it I should have sponged the edges and maybe even embossed with clear embossing powder...this card started out as a Mother's Day card, but I think it turned into a Wedding card!

Howdy, Cowboy!
I made this card for my friend's son...the 'saloon' doors are actually the tag punch!...I eliminated the hobby horse that was in his right hand (using markers instead of ink to ink the image) and put a lasso in his hand...

Rainbow Candles
Did you check out the retiring list from Stampin' Up!? This set, Party This Way, is retiring (and I just got it!) I saw a similar version of this card with a black layer added, but I thought this would be perfect as a one layer card...I added a touch of Dazzling Diamonds to the flame part...

Viewmaster for my stamping fan...
I made this card for my friend's daughter...she's my biggest fan and loves all my cards! (She's 8!) As soon as I saw this card (I made one for my 4 yr old's birthday) I kept it in mind for Lexi's April birthday...

Surviving moving...
Here's a card I made for a friend who's selling her home and buying another...which I think is the most difficult undertaking EVER!!
So I wanted her card to be a "Congrats on making it through the move" instead of "congrats on your new home"...

Lovely Notecards
I used my new embossing folder to make a very delicate notecard...stamped the base card and the top layer almost in the same spots to add dimension...them placed a sentiment in the center of the oval embossing....these would make a nice gift set...in multiple colors with different sentiments...

Happy Anniversary!
My hubby & I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary 2 weeks ago...here's the card I made...I was sick of making love-y dove-y heart-y pink/red cards....so i decided to make a card with one of his favorite things--BEER!
The stamp is from the set Cheers to You...I thought the woodgrain background adds a nice touch...the foam on the top of the beer is made with Liquid Applique...I had the same little bottle for years (like 10!) and it still works!

Happy Easter!
Isn't this card stunning? (if I say so myself?) The cross is embossed with gold embossing powder...the vines in the background are from Vintage Vogue set...wait till you see this card re-done as a Communion card!
There's also a score line 3/8 inch all around to add a subtle border....

Timely Easter Cards
This morning I woke up and thought "Oh crap! I better get myself into gear for Easter!" It snuck up on me!
I made these cards last week for my friend, Kim...isn't it always better when someone asks you to make a card for them? At least you don't procrastinate!
The Chocolate Bunny is a retired stamp, but still available on MDS...he just screams to be embossed, so that's just what I did. I also embossed the D/S paper in the Big Shot with the Swiss Dots folder.
The Flower card is an exact CASE from Dawn Olchefske...colors and all! I think I'm going to bring this one back for Mother's Day!...also birthday...get well....

Party this way...
I loved the colors in this card the moment I saw them...I used some embroidery floss for the balloon strings...I also used 2 different embossing folders (as I couldn't decide...one has numbers like on the balloons and the other says Happy Birthday all different ways...

Well, at least I tried....
I saw a version of this card (I think on Dawn Olchefske's blog) and made a go of it....I like the 3 D-ishness (if that's even a word) of it...the white piece is popped up with dimensionals...I liked Dawn's version better because of the colors she used....I am a little low on D/S paper...I'm hoping the new catty will have some nice stuff!

Butterfly engagement
My friend needed an engagement card for a friend and instead of going the traditional blue & white with a ring on it, I opted for a springy peach card with a butterfly...I love this card and use it for many occasions...

Ooops! I lied!
I thought I had showed you the last of my St. Patrick's Day cards, but I forgot this one that was made by my oldest, Maggie. She came up with the idea all on her own and wanted a little help on the rainbow, so I suggested she find some punches to use (like a flower or circle) but then she decided to use the mini tag punch! The curved part of the tag is tucked under the next tag punch. Isn't she creative??!! The coins are some gold glitter paper.

Little chocolates
I thought this was the most adorable card when I saw the sample of it on Splitcoaststampers.com...
The original was in shades of gray, but I changed it up to shades of brown. To get all the chocolates the same, I cut one using 1 1/4 inch circle along the bottom of a piece of straight cardstock, and used that one as a template to trim the rest of the circles. I made this as a Mother's Day card for my mother-in-law (as she's a chocoholic!)
Naturals White, Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede, Early Expresso, Very Vanilla
