I've used this layout before from Krista Fenton, and I loved it, so I decided to use it again in my series of more mature work...god, I hate how that sounds!
I added the sentiment on an oval punch to change it up a bit...

Happy #6!
Yesterday was my little Timmy's 6th birthday...
These are the little treats I made for his kindergarten class...it is just 2 Kit Kat bars wrapped in a strip of Gable Green, with a little alien space ship with a circle of Green Galore and a scallop circle of Pacific Point....
...they were a big hit!

Here it is...
....a mature card! I borrowed a few of my mom's stamp sets to make some mature birthday cards...so here it is with the sketch I used...I've been holding on to this card sample for a long time now and am so excited that I got a chance to use it!

Tiny Turkey Baskets
Last Thanksgiving, I made the kids their own little turkey baskets from the Two Tags Die...they were like a place setting and were a big hit as they were filled with chocolates...this year, since Gram and Aunt Mary were coming for dinner, I decided to make one for them and one for me and my hubby...
I opted for the owl punch turkey with the 5 petal flower feathers (since it was a bit quicker than last year's oval punch turkey...I just trimmed off the little ears of the owl and added 3 different colored 'feathers'...the little waddle is the heart from the owl punch, punched 2x and cut in half, layering half of the yellow heart over the red as a beak...

Super simple, but time consuming...
Does, this look like tiles?
These are 1 inch squares, each embossed with a different embossing folder (hence the time consuming part)...the little stamped square is actually a tag stamp...this could really be an any occasion card--just change up the last square...

Happy Thanksgiving!
I have no pictures of stamping related stuff to post, since I haven't really been stamping much lately....I'm in a bit of a funk....
But I thought I'd post 2 cute photos of my kids in our backyard...
Hope you have a wonderful Turkey Day!

Did somebody say ballet?
Would you believe this is from the stocking punch??? I saw the idea on Jackie Topa's blog--she's so creative! Who woulda thunk?
I punched the legs in Pink Piroheutte and again in white and trimmed the white to make a ballet slipper (hint: I made one as a template and used it over and over...the body/shirt is a scallop circle (the larger one) with a little tulle skirt made from 2 large scallop Big Shot dies folded in half and scrunched and sewed together...a little pink bow tops it off....
I think I am going to make these for our Ballet Brunch at my kids' dance school as pins, but they would easily fit on a card (maybe one with a dance bar, wood floor and a mirror???) Hhhhmmmmm.....

Quick Thanksgiving card
Needed a Thanksgiving card real fast, so I went back to my layouts and came up with this card...there are some very subtle leaves stamped on the bottom half of the card...

Baja Breeze engagement
My friend, Kim, also asked me for an engagement card....since I made this one already and loved it, I thought I'd pull it out again...this time, however, I made it in a square size instead of a regular A2 size...
It is really so simple and stunning (and easy!)

Fishing birthday
My friend, Kim, asked me to make card for her husband's birthday, who likes to fish...I do not own any mature stamp sets--gotta get some!...so here's what I came up with (and he liked it!)
I painted the fish scales with some Crystal Effects...the sentiment is actually printed from the computer since I don't own a stamp that was simple and would fit into a circle punch...the background is stamped with the Fishy Friends matching wheel...don't you just love the layout, too?
Lucky Limeade, Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point

That' usin' your noggin'!
I've been helping out my kids' dance studio get ready for their upcoming Holiday Show-cutting felt 'candlestick wax drips', hot gluing hats, etc... the director asked me to burn the edges of some tulle ballet skirts to prevent further fraying....I started out with one of those BBQ lighters and soon realized that tulle is extremely flamable!
After trying a hair dryer and a curling iron, and then almost moving onto a hair flat iron, I realized that I could use my embossing heat gun! It worked like a charm!!!! And no flames! See...all that stuff I have for stamping does come in handy....I'll have to remember that excuse when my hubby sees my next order come for the UPS guy!

Love and Layout
I wanted to make a card for my wonderful hubby...and couldn't resist this layout...it was a Splitcoaststampers weekly layout challenge...
You can hardly see it, but I stamped some hearts on the bottom half of the card in River Rock ink...don't you just love rounded corners?

Male anniversary card?
Is there such a thing? My friend, Ada, (Hi! Ada!!) asked me to make an anniversary card for her fiance...I really love how the card turned out...notice the paper piercing along the edge of the main image (and the rounded corners)...the center heart image (from the Always set) is stamped 2x....the actual heart is popped up with dimensionals...
Even though this is a 5 x 5 card, I was able to emboss the River Rock background piece since the folder I used was an open design...I just positioned it to emboss different areas of the card and ran it through the Big Shot twice...oh! and I sponged the edges of this piece to make it pop!
Cherry Cobbler, River Rock, Early Expresso, Marina Mist (color combo taken directly from Color Coach)

Halloween thanks...
I made this Thank You for my neighbor, Krista...she made the kids all a really cool goodie bag for Halloween...it's a super simple card...Basic Grey base, Basic Black embossed with the web folder, a 3 inch Daffodil Delight circle for the moon, and a black leaf stem from the bird punch and a black owl punch...add a sentiment and you're done! Can't get much easier than that!

Hand Sanitizer Treat
I know I'm way ahead of myself, but this is going to be the goody my daughter gives out for her 11th birthday in April...as soon as I saw this on Erica Cerwin's blog, I knew Maggie would flip over it! She has a step-by-step tutorial that made this super easy!

Stunning snowflakes....
Even thought the photo does this card no justice...it is stunning...(if I do say so myself)...I masked of an area with some Post-it notes, then sponged some Tempting Turquoise ink in the opening, adding some Pacific Point ink around the edges to darken it...then I took the snowflakes stamps and stamped them around the rectangle with some Staz-on ink...added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter and drew the black lines around the rectangle with a marker and a ruler....going to have to try this one for lots of different occasions...it's a no-layer card!

Did some say "Stocking Die"?
Yep...that's the stocking die! There are mini tutorials all over Splitcoaststampers for this adorable treat holder...the toe is a 3 1/2 in circle with another circle partially cut out and glued on...a heel is cut and the whole thing is embossed (thus erasing the lines of the added 'toe' circle)...I added some light sponging of white ink to the top of the boot (embossed with the web pattern...
This would even be cute for a teacher gift with a gift card sticking out....

Rainbow butterflies
CASE'd this card pretty much exactly...isn't it terrific??
Helpful Hint: I glued the rainbow (torn) strips to a piece of white card stock measuring 4 1/4" x 3"...that way I was able to center it perfectly and trim all pieces equally....
Real Red, Only Orange, Daffodil Delight, Green Galore, Tempting Turquoise, Lavender Lace, Basic Black, Whisper White

Male squares and circles....
As I looked through my items for the vendor fair (which is tomorrow) I felt that I was lacking in 'male' cards, so I decided to make up this one just to have available...
I had seen a version of this made in a regular A2 size, but changed it around to fit into a square card...
1 inch square punch and 3/4 inch circle punch...
Soft Suede, Tempting Turquoise, Early Expresso, Whisper White, Pear Pizzaz, Lucky Limeade, Baja Breeze

Fall Wreath
This was my first attempt at the wreath/door card...the Christmas one was my second...
Instead of doing a raised panel door (which I like much better) I only made the door flat...

Christmas Wreath on the front door....
I've been seeing versions of this 'door' card all over...in all different colors and styles, so I just had to try one for myself...
I used my Woodgrain background stamp (naturally) and added a brad for the door knob....the wreath itself was pretty simple...I used my punches to make a wreath, then added the leaves from the bird punch all around (I thought about using the Little Leaves diecut, but didn't want to run the die through the Big Shot 40 times!
I used a mix of shades of green...then added a bow and some punched out berries (from the cupcake punch)...wait till you see the Autumn colored wreath I made....

Came, saw, conquered...
...or something like that...I saw a version of this card on someone's blog...can't remember where, but I didn't have the stamp that was used, and didn't know the colors....but the card was calling out to me....so I scoured through my stamps for a leaf stamp, but I only had an outline stamp (the original one used was more solid and the leaves were stamped in colored ink))...so now I had to stamp on colored cardstock and cut out...
HINT!!!!! VERY LIGHTLY glue the leaves down as it should take you several tries to get a round wreath!
Ruby Red (or Riding Hood Red--whichever you have) Baroque Burgandy, More Mustard, Tangerine Tango, Always Artichoke
*the original card had one leaf in So Saffron but I couldn't fit in in because I need to have 2 of everything (anal retentive!)
